CONTINGENCY

If for any reason the BIP, or part of the BIP is not available, the BIP staff, on receipt of the TRACES notification of the arrival of a consignment will notify the TSO of what action is to be taken.

DIVERSION

In the event of a flight being diverted to another UK airport, you should be aware that : -

not all airports have BIPs

BIPs do not all have the same level of approval and therefore they cannot all handle the same categories of POAO

Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester Airports have BIPs approved to undertake veterinary checks on a wide range of POAO. POAO on flights diverted from Stansted to these airports will be dealt with in accordance with their local procedures.

In the event of a diversion to any airport except Gatwick, Heathrow or Manchester, contact must be made with the BIP, who will liaise with the control authority responsible for the airport of diversion.

If the POAO remains on board the aircraft and the aircraft repositions to Stansted, the provisions in these instructions will apply.
